Life after EXPLANT & LIFT
As Im planning on an explant and a lift, I need to prepare myself for the after surgery.
Please let me know your experience..

After how many weeks (or days) you felt back to normal with little or no pain???
How did you felt by the 16th day (2 weeks)? Could you drive and lift things. I'm trying to plan my days Post Op.

RE: Life after EXPLANT & LIFT
With an explant and lift, you will probably not be driving for a few days, post-op. By two weeks, you should be able to drive with little to no pain, but you will probably not be able to lift much....maybe something the same weight or slightly heavier than your purse. I think my doctor advised I wait at least six weeks before attempting to lift anything more substantial than that.

Courage is not lack of fear; it is moving ahead despite having it.

Thanks Zelda.
I just wanted ideas if how each of you feel after 2 weeks recovery for me to plan my surgery date as my son birthday is 16 days after surgery. I don't know how much a cake weight to bring to his school but it will be a small one for only 10 toddlers.

RE: Life after EXPLANT & LIFT
Post explant and lift- For 4 weeks I can't lift more than 1 kilo, or raise arms above my head, but can wash my hair. In 1 week, can drive. I only took 2 doses of pain killers the day of surgery. Didn't take them that night because I didn't have pain.

RE: Life after EXPLANT & LIFT
Almost 2 weeks post explant and lift I'm healing really well. Today told I can now raise up my arms and don't have the 1 kilo weight restriction. The intial instructions were for the worse case senario. But no heavy lifting or power walking for another 2 weeks.

RE: Life after EXPLANT & LIFT
Be careful, Girls, and don't get too active too soon. Last night at the two week mark, I had some bleeding from my drain tube site. I had the tubes removed at the four day mark and they seemed to be healing nicely, but yesterday I did laundry and emptied the dishwasher so I think I must have done too much stretching. I was scared at first when I noticed the bleeding on my bra, but I put some neosporin on the site and a large, square band-aid on the spot. I have not showered yet so I don't know how it looks today. I will call my surgeon if it still seems to be open and bleeding. BE CAREFUL! Love, HarrysWife

Harryswife,
I hope it's nothing serious. I think you will be fine but please slow down. And THANK YOU for warning us. Feeling better doesn't give us the ok to do more stuff around the house, but sometimes we don't realize that.
I'm going on surgery tomorrow morning and will be posting as soon as I can. I'm sure I'm going to want to sleep after :)
