Okay, definitely not for everyone, but I ran across this site and thought it worth sharing. Whatever your feelings are about tattoos, these women have found another way to reclaim their bodies, and to refute the "requirement" of reconstructive implant surgery after mastectomy. Very cool and empowering.

Explanted en bloc 7/8/10 by the awesome Dr. Jae Chun, with full anchor lift.

Two years with submuscular saline 275 cc's + eleven years with silicone gel, 450 cc's. Ugh.

Also, for anyone who is bothered by her white scars, it is possible to tattoo them to better blend into the skin. However, do not go to just any tattoo artist for this. Go to someone who specializes in medical micropigmentation.

You need to wait at least a year after the creation of the scar.

Also be aware that you cannot donate blood for at least a year after tattooing.

Here's a site with some good photos. Again, be very careful where you go for this kind of treatment.
