My x mother-in-law who I just called to see if she was having any problems with her implants, she had silicone implants put in when they first came out and she is in her 80's now and they are hard as a rock and they sag very bad, she was almost in tears because of her health now she can not be put to sleep so she can never remove them, therefore she can not sleep on her stomach or her side, she is always in pain... If you are healthy get them removed now!!! They do not and will not last forever and when they do not and you must have them out you may not be able to health wise.. Goodluck on your decision.

Yes he got all the silicone out...they were removed en bloc to avoid silicone spilling into the cavity. The surgery took about 3 hours and I was under local anesthesia. It's going to be 3 weeks this coming wed. I only had an explant, no lift.

Mikisi- how was it having all that done under a local? I was under a general for my removal and still feel a little wonky. I am going
to have the capsules removed in the future and would prefer to have a local.

Stellar, the average lifespan for silicone implants is around 10 years, according to the FDA.

Hi Stellar,

My advice for you is that if you are healthy enough to have these implants removed, I'd do it as soon as you can.
